Yep, it’s that time of year when many people decide that it’s time to make some changes, set goals, and start fresh. Truly, any time of year is a good time to do these things but there is something great about a new year, your new, fresh calendar, and new challenges to tackle. As a Christian, it is also Biblical when you take the time to RE-evaluate where you are spiritually. Here are some great verses which confirm this:

Lamentations 3:40,Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord.

Psalm 139:23-24,Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Galatians 6:4,Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else,”

1 Corinthians 13:5, “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?

Revelation 2:5, “Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.

God’s word is clear that taking some time to know where we are with our spiritual selves is a must. This means we must take the time to go directly to Him and to also be ready to hear what He has for us. He will guide and direct you if you allow Him to do so.

It is always a good practice to take some time to evaluate your connection to God, your connection to others, and your connection to self. Here are some of my REasons:

RE-set: Did you know that our bodies are designed to reset? When you sleep your cells and the chemicals in your brain actually go through a re-set. This allows for growth and repair. To re-set your life, you also need to prepare to grow/change and to allow yourself to repair or replace old habits, things that are no longer serving you or are holding you back. God created cycles on earth and within our bodies. RE-setting your life being rooted in Christ is the firm foundation for a true RE-set.

RE-flect: Evaluation is critical to know where you have been and where you desire to go. To evaluate yourself takes honesty, transparency, and a desire to move forward in a new direction. Don’t just do the same old drill and write down a lot of things you desire to do, take a moment to truly RE-flect on areas that need attention. Your health, your finances, your business goals, your faith, and your relationships. RE-flect on the love of Christ. He alone provides you with what you need daily. It is with Him and through Him, that leads you where you need to go.

RE-solve: To be resolved means to decide firmly on a course of action according to the dictionary. This means that when you determine to make changes and set goals, that you are going to make them happen. This will take true dedication, intention, and an “I will not back down” mentality. Change and improvements only happen when one is RE-solved to doing so. Are you RE-solved in your faith? Do you know beyond a shadow of a doubt who you are in Christ? If not, stop this moment and go to Him with an open heart to RE-pair this!

Are you ready to RE-direct your life? It won’t happen on its own. Time is precious and fleeting. What are you waiting for? Get with it and RE-spect yourself and our Lord enough to live the life you desire and one that He desires for you! Make it a great 2022 and LIV2DAY!
